Research & Sponsored Program Development
Research & Sponsored Program Development supports the UND LEADS Strategic Plan and its goals to advance research, creative activity and scholarships through our spirit of inquiry and our desire to better understand the world around us.
The University of North Dakota has established systems for the effective administration of projects sponsored by external agencies through two offices: Research & Sponsored Program Development and Grants & Contracts Accounting. As with all sponsored projects, the Principal Investigator will be responsible for the overall administration and progress of the project.
Research & Sponsored Program Development
Research & Sponsored Program Development administers the pre-award functions of proposal submission and award negotiation processes for sponsored funding applications on campus including:
- Proposal review, development and submission
- Notice of award receipt, negotiation and execution of awards and subawards
- Temporary project setup requests
- Award modification requests
- carryforward
- change in principal investigator
- change in scope of work
- budget modifications
Grants & Contracts Accounting
Grants & Contracts Accounting assists with post-award financial and administrative
matters related to sponsored projects and is responsible for submitting all required
reports to sponsoring agencies including:
- Award and project set-up in PeopleSoft
- Monitoring of Allowable Costs
- Award modification requests
- no cost extensions
- grant transfers
- Award Invoicing
- Award Reporting (Financial, Property/Equipment, etc.)
- Compensation Compliance
- Award and Project Closeout
Support for all expenditures including original invoices, payment vouchers, etc. will be maintained by the University. The University of North Dakota is included in the statewide single audit in accordance with the Federal Uniform Guidance. A report is issued every other year.
