American College of Norway
Want to study abroad, learn from talented and enthusiastic UND faculty, and meet intelligent, adventurous students from another country? Then American College of Norway (ACN) is the place for you! ACN is often referred to as "UND in Norway," since students take UND classes taught by UND faculty. Students enjoy an active college lifestyle in a multicultural atmosphere. Oslo is less than an hour away. The Norwegian coastline, "skjægård," is all around. And with Rygge airport only 10 minutes away, the rest of Europe is practically in our backyard.
The UND Study Abroad office assists you with the application process and connects you with the staff at ACN, who arranges housing. All ACN housing is located less than a five-minute walk to campus. While the specific courses taught at ACN each semester depend on the expertise of the visiting UND faculty, the emphasis is always on Essential Studies courses. ACN is affordable. Students pay UND tuition and fees, and scholarships received from UND will apply. There are also scholarships available to study at ACN.
ACN is located in Moss, Norway which is a charming, friendly town, similar in size to Grand Forks with approximately 40,000 inhabitants. It has all the benefits of a large city but with a small-town feel. Within walking distance of the ACN campus you will find a modern shopping mall, museums, galleries, cafes, bakeries, markets, a library and movie theater. Many of these facilities are housed in historic buildings. Moss is also a gateway to the rest of Europe, with the local Rygge airport offering regular, inexpensive flights to dozens of European cities. From the local train station, which is a short walk from campus, you can make connections to cities in Norway, Sweden, and beyond. Moss is a 45 minute ride from Oslo, Norway’s capital city, where you can take advantage of numerous museums, theaters, shops and historical sites.
