Collaboration Stations
The University of North Dakota has Collaboration Stations (Collabs) located throughout campus. The Collabs are intended for collaborative work and studies.
The Collaboration Station is a high-speed computer attached to a mobile cart with a 46" Flat Panel Display. Webcams are integrated into the workstation for video group chat and conferencing, on campus or around the world. With NextWindow display overlays, some of the Collabs are equipped with convenient interactive touchscreen technology.
With the specialized collaboration software "Teamspot", a group of students can connect to the host machine using wireless communication. They can:
- Share files
- Screen sharing
- Collaborate on documents (multiple editors in real time)
- Access specialized software
All a user needs is a laptop with a WiFi. The Collaboration Stations are equipped with a wireless keyboard and mouse, so users can also work directly on the host machine if they don't have a laptop.
