2017 ND INBRE Summer Research Program
REFUNDU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates at North Dakota Universities) is a Summer undergraduate research program for North Dakota Universities' students funded by the North Dakota IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE). The goal of the program is to enhance the North Dakota INBRE initiative to attract talented undergraduate students at North Dakota Universities majoring in science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics (STEM) to professional careers in the health sciences. The program provides a 10-week Summer research experience under the direction of selected faculty members at North Dakota Universities. Opportunities exist for research in the basic and biomedical sciences. Seminars will cover a range of basic science to community-based biomedical research program topics.
The REFUNDU program has up to thirty (30) openings for the Summer of 2017 for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Preference will be given to applicants without previous research experience. Participants will receive $7,000 based on a 10-week, 40 hours per week research training experience. Interested participants must complete an application , including an autobiographical sketch, and submit their unofficial college transcript and two letters of recommendation. Application review will begin Friday, March 24, 2017 and continue until all positions have been filled. Please submit all application materials by Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
The program begins Tuesday, May 30, and ends Friday, August 4, 2017. Participants must be undergraduate students of North Dakota Universities. Students graduating in Spring/Summer 2017 are not eligible.
