The Doctorate (EdD or PhD) in Educational Leadership, offered by the Department of Educational Leadership, is an off-campus program that prepares you for prominent administrative or scholarly positions in PK-12 educational organizations.
Through face-to-face classes held in Bismarck, ND, you'll focus on foundations, theory, research and scholarly tools that provide the necessary skills to function effectively as a leader in education. The degrees (EdD or PhD) are designed primarily for practitioners preparing for school administration positions including elementary or secondary principalships, superintendencies, curriculum directorships, or other school district central office positions.
In response to requests from practicing school administrators for more professional development opportunities, UND’s Educational Leadership (EDL) faculty have partnered with PK-12 school administrators from across North Dakota to design an innovative professional development program. With this new program, EDL faculty will get the opportunity to hear directly from PK-12 administrators who support the alignment of educational research and practice.
