Your transcript and diploma will look the same as for a student who graduated from UND by taking traditional, on-campus courses.
The full- or part-time program is designed for working professionals who are unable to attend traditional, on-campus classes.
To complete your coursework, 1 to 2 yearly intensive experiences (3 to 5 days) are required. In the intensives component of the program, you will participate in activities designed to promote scholarly development, collaboration and the formation of a professional network of nursing scholars.
You may participate in intensive experiences by coming to the UND campus in Grand Forks or by attending a regional nursing research conference, such as the Midwest Nursing Research Society. During intensives, you will be mentored in your future role as a nurse scientist.
"Live" Web Classes
As an online student, you have the opportunity to:
interact with your instructors and other students using Web-conferencing technology. "Core" PhD courses require you to participate in "live" Web classes and discussions that are held at set times on Tuesdays
review recorded classroom lectures and discussions that are accessed through the Internet at any time
