Earn your Bachelor's of Social Work (BSSW) degree from the University of North Dakota.
The part-time, online BSSW program is designed for individuals with undergraduate college credits, an associate’s degree or a bachelors in another field. You are required to come to the UND campus in Grand Forks, ND, for a 4-day campus visit.
You will also participate in a 450-hour field placement to better serve your own community. The field placement can be taken part time over two semesters.
Field placements must be completed within one of these areas: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, eastern Montana or southern Manitoba, Canada.
Admission Requirements: Bachelor's of Social Work
Overall GPA of 2.75
Willingness to adhere to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics and the Code of Student Life.
Completion of 45 semester hours of coursework at the end of the term in which the application is submitted.
Program applications will be available May 15 with a deadline of June 15. To apply for admission to the program, students complete the application, available on the Department’s website, in consultation with their advisor.
The application process is competitive. All factors including grade point average, strength of written materials, and volunteer experience will be given consideration in admissions decisions. The BSSW Program Director will notify the student of the decision regarding admission. Following admission, students are required to complete an assessment process.
