Welcome to International Scholar Services. The University of North Dakota is a Carnegie Doctoral/Research-Intensive Institution. UND has over 14,000 students, including about 850 international students. International Scholars, consisting of professors, researchers, medical residents, and professional, number nearly 300 individuals at UND’s four campuses (Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck, and Minot). UND places an emphasis on research and currently specializes in research involving health sciences, nutrition, energy and environmental protection, aerospace, and engineering. Several research institutions are located on the UND campus including the Energy and Environmental Research Center, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center.
