Trip to Minneapolis to watch the Minnesota Twins
The Office of International Programs is excited to announce that we will be offering a trip to Minneapolis to watch the Minnesota Twins and Major League Baseball! Please see below for further details:
When: Saturday, September 29th
What: Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers
Who: All international students are invited to sign up
Price: $52 – includes transportation and a ticket to the game (you will either need to bring your own food or bring money to buy food)
If you would like to sign up, you can sign up at the front desk of the International Centre. You will have to pay when you sign up. You can either pay by cash (please have exactly $52) or you can pay by check. We will not take sign-ups through email or the phone. Space is limited to the first 51 students who sign up so make sure to sign up early!
Game time is 12:10 pm so we will be departing the International Centre at 5:00am. We will stop for food on the way there and on the way back. We should be back by midnight.
Study Abroad Fair
The Office of International Programs will be hosting the Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday, September 12 from 10am to 3pm at the Loading Dock in the Memorial Union.
The Study Abroad Fair features our UND study abroad programs and our 10 affiliate providers. This event allows students to explore various study abroad opportunities. They can choose programs based on course offerings, destination, program length, and budget. Students are able to speak with study abroad alumni and advisors from each program to discuss whether that program would be right for them.
Health Insurance Payment Deadline
International students should pay for their health insurance as soon as possible. Health insurance must be paid for by September 28th. Students who do not pay by September 28th run the risk of having their enrollment cancelled and ultimately putting their legal status in the US in jeopardy.
Click here for details on the new insurance plan.
International Student Hold on Campus Connection
You may soon notice that an "international student hold" will be placed on your campus connection student account. This hold will only prevent you from dropping any classes without consulting an international student advisor first -- this is to prevent students from accidently dropping below a full courseload and violating status.

graduate without assitantship: 9 credits per semester

UPC Events this weekend
This Friday Sept. 14th at 9pm we are pleased to bring in Comedian Adam Grabowski at 9 pm in the Memorial Union Loading Dock. He was just voted 2012's Fastest Rising Star in campus Magazine and is super funny, so be sure to get there early to get good seats and bring your friends!
Saturday Sept. 15th at 9pm in the Memorial Union Loading dock there is a Grocery Bingo followed by a dynamic DJ Duo Ithica's Reach. They play electronic/dubstep/house with a few pop songs mixed in! They are a really fun duo so be sure to stay around after Grocery Bingo!
September 17th at 7pm in the Memorial Union Ballroom, the University Program Council is excited to announce we will be bringing in gay marriage rights activist Zach Wahls. The son of two lesbian mothers, the 19-year-old University of Iowa engineering student had no idea that his testimony to Iowa legislation that day would spread like viral wildfire, and even have him on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the Daily Show as well as a speaking spot at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Just two days after he testified during that hearing on gay marriage equality, a YouTube video of his testimony went viral, garnering nearly eighteen million views with millions more via Facebook, Twitter, national and international television, and other online media. (See the link below). Zach shares a story that has never before been told, and offers a fresh, bold perspective on a recently rekindled -- and always contentious-- issue: gay marriage. Zach Wahls will give you a different perspective on gay marriage. How it was like growing up for him and how it shaped the man he is today.
