The University of Oulu exchange offers students a rich combination of academics and cultural adventure. The second largest university in Finland with 16,000 students, the university is an international scientific community known for high quality research. The university encompasses eight fields of study: Humanities, Education, Economics & Business, Medicine, Dentistry, Health Sciences and Technology. The city of Oulu was founded in 1605 as a trading center on the Gulf of Bothnia. The town retains a strong maritime atmosphere with a picturesque waterfront and market place and enjoys a rich and varied cultural life. In addition, its many sports facilities offer excellent opportunities for sporting activities at all levels, both indoors and out.

Sponsored by the College of Business and Public Administration of the University of North Dakota, the UND-ICN Summer program is taught in English and is open to all UND students (with permission of department) regardless of major and offers an exciting opportunity for students to study business in a setting that combines the business environments of France, Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg. With special emphasis on the practical
development of competency in Supply Chain management, B to B Marketing, and Purchasing Management, the program helps students gain an in-depth understanding of European Business together with its languages, history, politics, legal systems, customs and cultures. Students from UND will meet students from many other countries and cultures who are also taking this course.

This exciting study abroad program allows UND students with a background in German language to immerse themselves in the language and culture of Germany. The University of Regensburg, located in the Bavarian region, offers a wide range of academic specialties and modern research facilities. The university also hosts several student activity groups offering opportunities for involvement in music and theatre.
Students participating in the exchange enroll in regular university classes taught in English or German and live in university residences situated throughout the city of Regensburg. In addition, the University of Regensburg offers a free six-week course in German language before the start of classes for students who need to strengthen their language skills.

The UND- American College of Norway program allows UND students to take UND classes taught by US faculty and local professors in Moss, Norway. The university is set on the Oslo Fjord, where you are surrounded by the natural beauty of the fjord and forest. Students are housed in apartments with other ACN students. Moss is located 40 miles south of Oslo and is famous for its historic mills, parks, museums, and manor houses. This program is open to freshman students with 15 earned credits.

BI Norwegian Business School

Graduate Exchange
MBA students at UND may study international business for two quarters at BI. Completion of this program satisfies all requirements for a concentration in international business. Students must enroll in a minimum of fourteen ECTS credits (7 US credits). Nine US credits are transferable to UND.

Co-sponsored by the UND Spanish Division and University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC), the Bilbao program offers students outstanding academics provided by the University of the Basque Country. The University is located 3 miles from Getxo and 5 miles from Bilbao. This intensive language program offers opportunities for students to be matched with a local student for conversation practice. Students can choose to live in Getxo or Bilbao. Both offer a variety of cultural events and sporting activities. Optional field trips to Madrid and other Spanish cities are available.

This unique program allows UND students to live and work in Spain. The Lector program in partnership with the University of Castilla-La Mancha will place one UND student per year at one of four locations in Spain’s Castilla La Mancha region : Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, or Toledo. This is a direct exchange program for students with a working knowledge of spoken and written Spanish with previous study abroad experience in a Spanish speaking country. Students teach English for approximately 20 hours per week and earn 3 co-op credits per semester of Languages 397. Students receive a monthly stipend for living costs and travel reimbursement for up to 1000 Euros.

Karlstad University

The Karlstad University exchange program is housed at one of the newer universities in Sweden, founded in 1977. Karlstad University offers students a wide range of courses in science, math, social sciences and engineering. Exchange students take classes in English, but are encouraged to take advantage of the course in Swedish language for foreigners. Karlstad, population 80,000, is centrally located for easy excursions to Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo. The city hosts many cultural events throughout the year including operas, ballets and plays. In addition to the urban attractions, Karlstad offers a wide range of outdoor recreational activities, from canoeing and sailing in the summer to snow shoeing and skiing in the winter.
