How often are sessions offered?

How much time do the sessions take?
Course work varies by subject, but the curriculum is designed to help people easily fit them into a normal work schedule. Typically, sessions are held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and last between one to two hours depending on the course.
How big are the sessions?
Class size varies by course ranging from five to 100. Sessions will be held if the number of registered participants meets or exceeds five as of 72 hours (three business days) prior to the course session. Some sessions are held for just one or two individuals if the instructor is willing.
Where are sessions held?
Sessions are held across campus in a variety of settings including lecture, classroom, and conference-style locations.
Who teaches the sessions?
Sessions are normally instructed by UND staff and faculty. However, at times members of the Greater Grand Forks community are invited to lead sessions based on their professional expertise.
Will I need to purchase books or other materials?
No. All session materials are provided as a benefit to you as a faculty or staff member of UND.
I just started working at UND; do I need to wait to take a session?
No. All staff are encouraged to take sessions at any time with the approval of their supervisor. UND students can attend sessions when applicable. Please contact Learning & Development for assistance when registering a student for a session.
Can I obtain a transcript of sessions taken through Learning & Development?
Yes. A transcript can be requested at any time and will include all sessions taken since the start of employment at UND. Contact us at lpd@UND.edu of call 701.777.0762 to obtain your transcript.
How do I park on campus?
UND parking permits are required to park on-campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week and regulations do not differ over holidays or semester breaks.
Purchase Visitor Parking Passes
Single-day and multi-day visitor passes are available. Passes are $5/day or $20/week.
- Online: Purchase passes online with credit/debit card or E-Check. You must be connected to a valid printer in order to print your guest pass. This pass must be displayed on the driver's side of the dashboard.
- In Person: Purchase passes in person by going to UND Parking Services, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with cash or check. These permits must be displayed on your vehicle's rearview mirror.
UND honors state-issued accessible permits for visitors, however, you must also have a UND permit to park in designated handicap spots on campus. Please contact Parking Services to discuss parking options if you are a visitor who wants to park in an accessible space (while displaying a state-issued accessible permit).
