Registration and Cancellation Policies
Registration
Register for sessions online or by phone at 701 777 0762 or 701 777 0720.
Submit your registration at least two business days before the start date of your session to reserve your spot in class. Space is limited, so register as soon as possible.
You will receive a registration confirmation within 24 hours of your registration. In addition, you will receive a courtesy reminder at least two days before your session or a cancellation notice if your session is cancelled.
Dropping a Session
In the event that you are unable to attend the session, you have two options:
- Cancel at least three business days prior to the session.
- Send another participant in your place.
Failure to take any of these actions interferes with the success of our programs.
The Waitlist
We strongly recommend getting on the waitlist for any session. If someone drops from the session, the individuals on the waitlist are offered the seat in the order in which they were put on the list.
Transfer to Another Session
If you need to transfer to another session, please notify Learning & Development as soon as possible.
Special Accommodations
If you need special accommodations to participate in sessions, please contact us at least two business days before the start date of your workshop.
Start Time
All classes will begin on time. Please plan to arrive ten minutes early to sign in and get settled. If you will be more than ten minutes late for a session, please contact us to save your seat or it may be given to a "walk-in" participant.
Prerequisites
Some workshops, especially our computer workshops, have prerequisites or require equivalent experience. It is important that you only register for workshops just above your current skill level.
Please assess your skills to make certain that any prerequisites or equivalent experience have been met. Generally, if you have about 90% of the skills listed on a lesson plan, you will be able to participate in the next level up without difficulty. If you have less than 90% of those skills, we recommend registering for the class you are looking at.
Cancellation Policy
Sessions may be cancelled under the following conditions:
- If fewer than five participants are enrolled and cancelling at least 72 hours prior to the beginning of the session.
- Instructor illness or emergency and the designated back-up, if applicable is unable to facilitate.
- University of North Dakota is on the adverse weather plan.
- Campus closure due to a unexpected campus event/emergency.
The cancellation notice must be sent from Learning & Development, not from the instructor. The instructor has the option to run a class with as few as one participant. In the best interest to meet the needs of our faculty and staff and to maintain the integrity of our programs Learning & Development encourages running the program if at all possible.
