Financial Aid Award Process
Financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need, which is the total family contribution subtracted from the estimated costs for the academic year.
-
Total family contribution is calculated from the information on your FAFSA such as family income, family assets, student's income and student's assets. - EFC Estimator (LINK)
-
Estimated costs for the academic year include tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies and other educational expenses. - UND Cost Information UND Cost Estimator (LINK)
After the FAFSA has been processed by the central processing center (usually 7-10 days after electronically submitting the FAFSA), you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR).
