Ch 30: Montgomery GI Bill, Active Duty
Eligibility
Must have completed 2 or 4 year contract (or more) with any branch of the military services (If you are not sure if you qualify, please come see us or call the Veteran Services Office).
To Apply
To apply for Chapter 30 benefits, the Veteran needs to fill out an Application for VA Educational Benefits, 22-1990. Also needed is a copy of the Veteran’s DD-214 discharge papers, Kicker paperwork (if applicable), and a copy of the student’s schedule.
Benefits
Chapter 30 students are eligible for benefits for 36 school months based on number of credits enrolled in school. First, figure out your training status (full-time, three-quarter, half-time, less than half-time) by looking at the number of hours you are enrolled in on the chart below. Then look at the Educational Assistance Allowance charts and the amount your are entitled based on your training status.

Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit is available for Chapter 30 recipients. To receive your check through direct deposit, please bring a voided check into the Veteran Services Office or you can call St. Louis directly at 1-888-442-4551 with your routing number and account number for the account you want your check deposited into.
Flight Training
If you are interested in using your benefits for flight training, please contact Mike Krotz at 701-777-7847. *You cannot receive flight training reimbursement and monthly benefits at the same time.
