Financial Aid Checklist
- Apply for admission to UND.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application - Remember to apply every year.
- Complete Scholarship Applications.
- Complete applicable privacy release forms. You must complete these forms to grant access for your parents, spouse or other individuals to view your academic, financial or other records. The Financial Release Form allows you to access your financial/financial aid information over the phone or by e-mail.
- Respond to any request for information and/or documentation immediately.
- Resolve any financial aid holds or outstanding items on your To Do list on CampusConnection.
- Check your University e-mail account regularly and respond to award notifications promptly. Accept your awards on CampusConnection.
- As a new Direct Loan borrower (subsidized or unsubsidized), sign a Master Promissory Note and complete Entrance Loan Counseling.
- As a new Perkins or Nursing Loan borrower, complete, sign and return the Master Promissory Note to UND Student Account Services. You must also complete Entrance Loan Counseling.
- If interested, request a PLUS or GradPLUS loan. Or, contact a private lender to apply for a Minnesota SELF loan, or any other private education loan. Click on Loans under the appropriate section in the left navigation for more information on available loan options.
- Watch for your UND Pride Card to arrive in the mail. You must activate this card at www.UNDPrideCard.com and select a refund preference to receive refunds from UND. Refunds are typically financial aid awards in excess of your bill at UND, but can also be from other sources (i.e. Housing, Student Health).
