Graduate PLUS Loan Application
You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for a Direct GradPLUS loan.
To request a Direct GradPLUS loan:
- Go to www.studentloans.gov
- Sign in to Manage My Direct Loan. You will need your Department of Education-issued PIN. If you do not have a PIN, submit an official request for one.
- Complete Request PLUS Loan
- If you are borrowing a Direct GradPLUS loan for the first time, you must also complete the Department of Education's Entrance Loan Counseling. You must be signed in to complete the counseling.
All GradPLUS Loan requests will be processed as an academic year loan with two equal disbursements (one for fall, one for spring). Please notify the Student Financial Aid Office at sfa@mail.und.edu if you request the loan for one term only (fall only or spring only).
What you need:

If you have previously completed either a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note or a Direct PLUS loan application, some of this information may be populated for you. You should review any populated information carefully for accuracy.
Credit History:
When you apply for a Direct GradPLUS Loan, the Department of Education will check your credit history. To be eligible to receive a GradPLUS loan, you must not have an adverse credit history. If it is determined that you have an adverse credit history, you may still receive a Direct GradPLUS loan if you obtain an endorser without an adverse credit history. An endorser is someone who agrees to repay the Direct GradPLUS loan if you do not repay the loan. You must complete the Endorser Addendum when you are signed in to www.studentloans.gov.
In some cases, you may also be able to obtain a Direct GradPLUS loan if you document extenuating circumstances related to your adverse credit history.
