Children and spouses
of North Dakota college and university graduates living in
other states may be eligible for reduced tuition at the University
of North Dakota. A graduate is someone who has earned a degree
at a North Dakota University System campus. Two requirements
must be met to take advantage of the special tuition structure
approved by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education.
The prospective UND student must:
1. Maintain residency in a state other
than North Dakota, Minnesota, or a state included in the
Western Undergraduate Exchange program, and
2. Be claimed for federal tax purposes
as a dependent or spouse of the North Dakota University
System school graduate.
Typically, non-resident students pay tuition at a higher
rate than residents of North Dakota, Minnesota, Saskatchewan,
Manitoba, and states participating in the Western Undergraduate
Exchange (WUE) program: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado,
Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South
Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Non-residents who
qualify for other rates -- Minnesota reciprocity, WUE, etc.
-- will still be eligible for those rates. New undergraduate
students who meet the residency and dependent requirements
are eligible for a tuition structure at 150 percent of the
North Dakota resident rate. Click here to view UND's Tuition.
