The Next Steps Toward Fall 2017
Congratulations to your student on being admitted to UND! Now, it’s time to start taking the steps toward the Fall 2017 semester.
Claim Student Account
The very first thing your student should do after being accepted into UND is to claim his or her student account within the North Dakota University System (NDUS). This account will give access to many of the systems needed as a UND student.
To claim the account, follow these steps:
- Go to UND.edu/claim.
- Find your student’s ID number (also known as the EMPLID) by clicking on the “What is your Student ID?” link.
- Once the student ID number is entered, click on the “Claim Your Account” link.
- Follow the steps as indicated.
Once your student has claimed his or her account, he or she won’t need to go through this process again. Make sure to record the username and password and keep it in a safe and secure place. If you or your student have questions while claiming their accounts, you can contact the NDUS Help Desk at 1.866.457.6387 or go to helpdesk.ndus.edu.
The next step in getting ready for Fall 2017 is to pay the confirmation enrollment deposit. This $200 non-refundable deposit will be applied to your student’s tuition bill and is due by the May 1 priority deadline.
It’s important to pay this as soon as your student knows he or she will be attending UND, because the deposit must be paid before the next steps can be taken to becoming a UND student, including:
- Accepting scholarship offers
- Signing up for orientation
- Registering for classes
- Receiving a housing room assignment
Your student is able to pay the enrollment deposit online after his or her account is claimed. Alternative payment methods for paying the deposit include by check and in-person at Student Account Services, Twamley Hall Room 204.
If your student is still unsure about attending UND, we recommend coming to campus for Admitted Student Day on Friday, March 3, where they'll get the chance to experience what life at UND is really like.
