Don’t Pay for College Twice! Get College Transcripts to UND
Before your student registers for classes during Orientation, it’s very important that our advisors are aware of any college-level credits he or she may have earned in high school.
If we don’t have your student’s official college transcript on file, the college credits already completed won’t be able to be transferred to UND. This could cause your student to have to retake classes and end up paying twice for these credits.
Keep in mind the following when requesting a transcript:
- If your student attended high school in North Dakota, his or her college transcript will not need to be sent to us.
- High school transcripts do not include official information on college credits earned.
- High schools are not able to request college transcripts for you.
- Colleges and universities charge a minimal fee ($5 to $10) to provide official transcripts.
Have your student request to have his or her official transcript sent directly to UND as soon as grades are posted and at least 2 weeks prior to coming to Orientation. Your student can also bring the transcript with them to Orientation.
Updated High School Transcripts
In addition to official college transcripts, if your student has an updated high school transcript, it should be sent to UND no later than August 1.
Your student should send an updated high school transcript if he or she had a GPA that didn’t quite meet UND’s academic scholarship criteria when they applied and has increased his or her GPA since then. If this is the case for your student, have him or her send an updated transcript to the UND Office of Admissions right away.
All transcripts can be sent to this address:
