AVP Corner: Welcome to Jason Trainer
Sol Jensen, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services
Welcome back! I hope your summer was enjoyable. Mine went by way too quickly!
With the start of a new academic year, it's time to begin our
COUNSELOR FUNDAMENTALS e-newsletter series. Based on your feedback, we plan to send shorter issues on a monthly basis. We hope you find our UND updates to be helpful as you serve students preparing for college.
When I began at UND in January 2013, I served in a dual role as the Assistant Vice President of Admissions & Financial Aid and the Director of Admissions.
As I continue to serve the University in an expanded AVP role—focusing more closely on the overall strategic enrollment management goals—I'm very pleased to introduce Jason Trainer as our new Director of Admissions.
Jason comes to UND from Northland Community & Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN, where he most recently served as the Director of Enrollment Management & Institutional Research. Prior to his positions at Northland, Jason worked for several years as an Admissions Counselor at Minot State University in Minot, ND. He also is working to obtain his doctorate in educational leadership from UND.
In his new position, Jason will provide leadership in continuing UND's record of improving the
academic profile and diversity of our entering classes. He'll focus on recruitment activities, strategic outreach and travel, the campus visit experience, as well as the overall application process. I'm confident Jason's experience and expertise will strengthen the UND Office of Admissions and its work in serving you, students and their families.
Please help me welcome Jason to UND! Watch for future editions of COUNSELOR FUNDAMENTALS from Jason. In the meantime, if there's anything he can do to assist you, feel free to contact him at jason.trainer@UND.edu or 701.777.3791.
