Director's Corner Wrap Up
Director of Admissions
The end of another school year is upon us, and this is already the last issue of the Counselor FUNDamentals e-newsletter series until the fall. We hope these monthly updates have been helpful to you and your students as they prepared for college.
As we look back at the 2016-17 year, we had quite a bit of success at UND, especially with our prospective student events and the new 'One UND' Strategic Plan.
Prospective Student Events
This April we had our second annual Admitted Student Day held on the UND campus. Almost 200 prospective students and their parents from 19 states and one province got the chance to see what life would be like if they attended UND in the future. The event was a great success for us with 79% of students that responded to a post-event survey saying they would definitely be attending UND.
We also held our annual UND Open House last October. This event brought almost 600 prospective students and about 2,000 total visitors to campus over two days.
UND Strategic Plan
Earlier this month, UND President Mark Kennedy formally launched the 'One UND' Strategic Plan to faculty, staff. The strategic plan is a 5-year blueprint to position the University of North Dakota as the premier flagship of the Northern Plains.
Programming with UND
If you want to develop any programming with UND at your schools, feel free to contact me at jason.trainer@UND.edu or 701.777.3791. We would be happy to partner with you and your school for events, such as guest speakings from Admissions or specific academic programs visiting your school.
Thank you for all that you do to serve students. Have a great summer and see you in the fall!
