The appreciation of art has always been one of the core components in higher education's mission of motivating men and women toward high ideals, stewardship, and greater understanding. At UND, that mission is significantly enhanced by ongoing funding from the Myers Foundations, which provides for the purchase, museum-quality care, and maintenance of the collections, as well as scholarly publications about the art. The Myers Foundations also supports a visiting artists program and other art-related resources through the Department of Art and Design and the Chester Fritz Library.
