The Nonprofit Leadership Student Association (NLSA) is hosting its fourth annual Formal Wear Sale. The event has developed an increasingly popular following as the best place for high school students in the Grand Forks area to buy affordable, gently used prom attire.
Dresses will be priced at $10 to $75, with higher-end dresses priced at no more than $150. New this year is a VIP discount. The first night of the sale, bring in your used gown and receive a 20 percent discount coupon you can use during the sale toward a new-to-you gown of your choice.
The sale takes place at St. Mary’s School gymnasium, 216 Belmont Rd., Grand Forks as follows:
- 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23
- 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24
- noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25
Please consider donating your used formal wear to this annual event. The NLSA will collect dresses until the start of the event. If you have prom attire you would like to donate, please call the UND Nonprofit Leadership Program at 777-3741 to arrange a donation pick-up; or bring your donation to the UND Memorial Union in the Student Involvement Office where the NLSA will have a collection box.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the NLSA and the BackPack Food Program. This program—an activity sponsored by Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota—helps students in the Grand Forks Area who may not have food at home by sending weekly bags of food (six meals, plus snacks) to take home on weekends during the school year.
