President Robert Kelley invites the public to the inaugural “Exceptional UND Showcase,” to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, April 30, on the second floor of the Memorial Union.
The Showcase provides a unique opportunity to meet with the UND community, and see and hear about some of the exciting and innovative initiatives directly resulting from the campus community’s “Exceptional UND Strategic Vision.”
The distinctive format of the Showcase – an interactive poster session – will allow the community to preview initiatives that are currently under way; engage with the faculty, staff and students who are working on these initiatives and provide feedback about all aspects of Exceptional UND. Initiatives being showcased include the Campus Master Planning process, successful Living & Learning Communities, improved processes for connecting students with meaningful research and many more.
President Kelley is slated to kick-off the showcase with brief remarks at 11 a.m., in the Memorial Union Lecture Bowl. The Showcase will immediately follow in the Fireside Lounge and will be open until 2 p.m. Because the event features an ongoing poster session, please attend as personal schedules allow to visit with UND colleagues, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and provide important feedback on the University’s collaboration toward an Exceptional UND.
Also, beginning, Monday, April 30, the Exceptional UND web site will contain information about each initiative that is on display during the event and will provide a place for the public to comment on individual initiatives, propose new ideas and provide other comments about the Exceptional UND vision. Please go to und.edu/exceptional for more information about Exceptional UND and this event.
About Exceptional UND
Exceptional UND is the campus community’s shared vision for the future, linking UND to the people of North Dakota, the nation, and globe through innovative teaching and learning, cutting-edge research, scholarship and creative activity and meaningful service to advance the public well-being.
Stemming from a series of campus-wide conversations founded on distinctive values of community and collaboration, Exceptional UND identifies five strategic priorities: enrich student learning, encourage gathering, facilitate collaboration, expand UND’s presence in the community, and enhance quality of life.
Each priority allows for flexibility and innovation in developing initiatives throughout the campus community that advance the University’s mission and vision for the future.
