ETHEL Quartet
The string quartet ETHEL has been a post-classical pioneer since it was founded in 1998. New York’s ebullient ETHEL serves as Artists-in-Residence at New York City’s Park Avenue Armory, the Ensemble-in-Residence at the Grand Canyon Music Festival as part of the Native American Composers Apprenticeship Project, and the official house band of TEDxManhattan and TEDxBig Apple conferences.
Myra Presents: Sunday Concerts in the Galleries
After years of quiet support, the Museum decided it was long past time to honor the local Myra Foundation for its gifts to classical music. The concerts range far and wide from violinist Alejandro Drago’s newest venture, Tango Rendezvous International, to pianist Sarah Cahill’s celebration of the 100th birthday of John Cage. From the premier, post-classical string quartet, Ethel, to Norway’s rising star, trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth. The series concludes with Maya, a trio born out of the chamber music tradition, which stretches the boundaries of the classical chamber concert while creating appealing programs that weave together music of diverse traditions. Join us Sunday afternoons at 2 pm in the beautiful galleries of the North Dakota Museum of Art.
Concerts are followed by a reception with hors d'oeuvres and wine. Parking is free in the lot to the north of the Museum entrance.
