Under the Baobab is Africa Student Union’s once a month Event. This event is named for a tree [Baobab Tree]. The Baobab tree is symbolic in many African societies, one of the main purposes of the Baobab tree is that it serves as discussion place, be it Chiefs discussing a village issue, Village elders advising the young, or simply Villagers tackling an issue, they usually meet under the Baobab Tree. Here is an example of other uses for the tree “One ancient hollow Baobab tree in Zimbabwe is so large that up to 40 people can shelter inside its trunk. Various Baobabs have been used as a shop, a prison, a house, a storage barn and a bus shelter.” Krueger Park
