Our last On Teaching Seminar is titled “Academic Integrity and Take-Home Exams: An Open Conversation.” It will take place Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Badlands Room, Memorial Union.
What are your assumptions and expectations when it comes to take-home exams? Have you found them better at assessing certain kinds of learning than in-class exams? Or have you tried and abandoned them? Let’s take this opportunity to have an open conversation about take-home exams—if they can work and how, what to tell students about them and how to align our expectations around academic integrity and the writing process with our students performance.
If you have used take-home exams and have gained insight into successful implementation, we’d love to have you join us. Or if you are concerned that it is not possible to use such exams without courting disaster, we hope you will come, too. Please register by Friday, November 30 at noon to attend and reserve a lunch. Visit the Office of Instructional Development online (www.oid.und.edu ) to register. For information contact Jana Lagro
