Engineers Week is a nationally celebrated event that gives awareness to the contributions that engineers make to society. To celebrate, Engineers Council, in collaboration with the College of Engineering and Mines, is organizing the E-Week Banquet. This annual banquet allows us to recognize and celebrate the many great people on campus. The main highlights of the banquet include a full service meal, a keynote speaker, and an awards ceremony.
The cost for the event is $5 for students, and $10 for all others. This is to be paid in the Office of Student Experience & Outreach, located in Upson II Room 365. You can register for the event at this link: E-Week Banquet Registration. Registration for the event is due by Friday, February 14th at 4 PM. The banquet starts at 6 PM, and is located in the Red River Valley Room in the Memorial Union.
The keynote speaker for the event is Mindy Hangsleben, a UND Engineering alum. She is an Entrepreneur Fellow for the Secretary’s Office at the Department of Health and Human Services working on accelerating the healthcare market from a fee for service to value based system using and teaching process improvement methodologies to federal employees. Mindy graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of North Dakota in 2005. After graduation, Mindy worked at Intel Semiconductor for 7 years; the first 5 years she worked on developing and manufacturing the latest and greatest processors. Her last two years, she traveled around the globe teaching and leading process improvement activities to their assembly and test factories resulting in millions of dollars saved, tens of thousands of hours of engineering hours saved, enabled better quality and shorter product time to market. During this time, she was the key contributor/innovator to the development of two successful start-up organizations.
