The third annual Northern Plains Convective Storms Symposium will be held Monday-Tuesday, May 19 and 20, in 210 Clifford Hall.
The symposium provides an opportunity for individuals with an interest in convective weather to exchange ideas, present case studies, preliminary or finalized research findings, new forecasting techniques and technologies, communication tools and methods, and meteorological decision support. Meteorologists, students, researchers, broadcast media, storm chasers, Skywarn volunteers, emergency management professionals, and members of the public are welcome.
The symposium’s primary focus is summertime convection occurring over the Northern Plains of the American and Canadian Prairies. Presentations focusing on winter convection, summertime convection outside this region, and topics other than convective weather are welcome.
