Two for the price of one! Celebrate Turtle River State Park’s 80th birthday and support the Friends of Turtle River (FOTR).
The Friends of Turtle River is a group of volunteers dedicated to promoting the park for outdoor recreation and educational activities through fundraising, volunteer opportunities, and long-term planning and advising. FOTR will be selling $1-an-ear corn with all of the fixings, plus hotdogs and hamburgers as a fundraiser to support their activities within the park. All proceeds will be utilized to sponsor interpretive activities and improvements to the park. In honor of this Buck-An-Ear event, Cabela’s is sponsoring prizes for the best dressed pirates; grab your bandana, eye patch, and favorite parrot. Enjoy games and crafts and indulge in free birthday cake. FOTR members will be available to answer questions regarding the organization.
All of the fun takes place Saturday, Aug. 9 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Agassiz Picnic Shelter, a short hike from the campground. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the evening.
All North Dakota State Parks require the purchase and display of a daily ($5) or annual ($25) vehicle permit upon entry.
