Free Outdoor Music Festival
To Takeover the Greenway in Downtown Grand Forks
HB Sound & Light announces the first annual Greenway Takeover Festival (GTF) to be held September 21-24, 2017. This multi-day music festival will take place on the Greenway just north of the Sorlie Memorial Bridge in downtown Grand Forks. Each day you can expect local, regional and headlining music, a food truck alley, picnic area, beer sales, games for the kids and adults, and most of all, a celebration of the awesome community spirit that makes Greater Grand Forks a great place to live and visit! Bring a chair or a blanket and join us each day.
Saturday, September 23: The grass roots, regional music festival, Big Forkin’ Festival will not only take over the festival grounds, it will pop up in coffee shops and venues all over downtown. Music will start on the Greenway first thing in the morning to cheer on the runners competing in the Wild Hog Marathon who will be racing through the grounds of the GTF. Musicians of many genres will perform throughout the day and then converge back on the Greenway for an evening of music. The evening will close out with Dead Man Winter, an electric rock & roll band. Playing a full-bodied, emotionally resonant brand of Americana-infused indie rock, Dead Man Winter is a group led by Dave Simonett, best known as one of the founding members of the progressive bluegrass group Trampled by Turtles.
