This presentation will survey the current state of theory in feminist communication scholarship, based on Dr. Rakow’s recent contribution on feminist theory to the new resource, Oxford Bibliographies Online: Communication. Dr. Rakow will discuss the origins, themes, and current trends of feminist communication theory and note the contributions and shortcomings of this approach to the field. She also will describe the challenges of producing such a meta-analysis as a resource for other scholars.
