It's time to connect.
Community Connect is a project of the Center for Community Engagement at the University of North Dakota. The project was created to provide opportunities for conversation and interaction between members of communities and the faculty and students of UND, so we can draw on our collective knowledge to address community issues and concerns.
Community Connect began with over 30 conversations with diverse groups from urban and rural communities across North Dakota. The purpose of these conversations was to assess how North Dakotans access and produce information, as well as to evaluate community-university collaborations. This research was facilitated by an interdisciplinary team of faculty and graduate student volunteers from Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Counseling, Indian Studies, Geography, and Earth System Sciences and Policy.
The findings from those conversations lead us to design Community Connect as a public communication project with three components, a community-university forum, a journal, and this website.
