Stone Soup Bus Tour
Exploring & Serving North Dakota
When other students head to the beach March 11-15 for spring break, a group of UND students will be heading into rural North Dakota and northwest Minnesota for a different kind of break. They will be learning about rural communities and offering to be of help during the third annual "Stone Soup Bus Tour."
Students enrolled in the IDS 399 service-learning course called Service and Rural Communities will be heading out from Grand Forks Monday toward Stephen MN, Edinburg, Fort Totten, Towner, Bismarck, and Tower City before returning Friday, March 15, 2013.
The course is being taught by Lana Rakow, director of the Center for Community Engagement and professor of communication, Kiley Wright, a communication graduate student, and Anna Larson, the Community Connect coordinator at the Center. Travel support for the course has been provided by private donations to the Stone Soup Fund.
