International Human Rights Course Flyer

Course taught by Profs:

Rebecca Weaver-Hightower, English.

Olaf Berwald, Languages.

Gregory Gordon, Law School.

Brian Urlacher, Political Science.

This course introduces students to the challenges and problems of living in a globalized world in which human rights are realized in uneven ways. How do we as individuals live in this interconnected world where human rights are inconsistently applied but increasingly aspired to? How do we respond as citizens of a country, as members of a local community, and as a part of the human fabric? This course explores these questions through readings, class discussions, and a cross-discipline sampling of ideas and frameworks related to human rights in a globalized world. Understanding these incredibly popular reads. Plus no class on Fridays!
