A group of IT security-minded individuals at the “pointy-end-of-the-spear” who will help promote secure computing practices and principles with students, faculty and/or staff within their college, department or organization.
This group will belong to an email distribution list (UND-SPEARheads@listserv.nodak.edu) and will receive routine emails from the IT Security Officer regarding new security vulnerabilities, viruses, exploits, awareness articles, and other valuable security related information. This list will also be used as a discussion forum regarding IT security-related issues.
This group will be given priority access to various IT Security training opportunities, conferences, and seminars.
This group will participate in campus-wide IT Security awareness events and conduct awareness activities within their department.
Members of this group may also have the opportunity to participate in other IT security initiatives such as technology evaluations, security assessments, policy development teams, and security awareness exercises.
