TERRY SANDO
Senior Emergency Management Specialist
Terry is the first Senior Emergency Manager and the first Director of Emergency Management and Public Safety at University of North Dakota. The units and functions under Terry are Emergency Management, Police, Safety and Environmental Health, Environmental Training Institute, Insurance and Risk Management. Terry has 8 years of experience in emergency management and adaptive planning. He is a native of Valley City, North Dakota. Terry has spent 30 years in Air Force and the North Dakota Air National Guard and he retired as a Colonel. Some of the notable positions that he has held in the United States Air Force are Director of Plans (A5) and Strategic Requirements and Programs (A8), Air Forces Northern (AFNORTH), First Air Force, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, NGB Director, USNORTHCOM Domestic Events Officer, and ANG Advisor to 21st Space Wing.
