Biography
Grew up in a farming family in north central North Dakota. Was an athlete all through high school, so when the decision came for a career path I wanted to still be involved in athletics, and have always been interested in the medical aspect. Went to Minot State right out of high school with the intention of taking the then offered internship path to becoming an athletic trainer. After the first semester without much guidance I had decided that it was in my best interest to transfer the University of North Dakota who had degree in athletic training program. After graduating I worked for MeritCare of of Fargo, which has since merged into Sanford Health. I worked as an outreach athletic trainer for Breckenridge High School in Breckenridge, MN. While working in Breckenridge I enrolled in the Master's program at Cal U. Upon completion of that degree I wanted to pursue a college athletic trainer life and became employed at Bemidji State University. While at BSU my primary sports were the Women's Soccer team and the Men's Basketball team. After a few years I wanted to have a higher role in the athletic training world and once again became elmployed by Sanford Health out of Fargo. This time I worked as an outreach athletic trainer at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. While at NDSCS I was the head athletic trainer and adjunct instructor in the HPER curriculum. At NDSCS there are 5 total sports and they have 1 athletic trainer. In 2017 I decided that I wanted to have a more active role in the education of athletic training students and also to move a little closer to home and came back to UND to primarily work with the Men's basketball program and work as an instructor and preceptor in our athletic training program.
