Major Equipment includes:
Major equipment consists of equipment with a per unit acquisition cost greater than or equal to $5,000 AND with a useful life greater than one year.
Major equipment is tracked by Asset Management. Departments are responsible for the following:
- Inform Asset Management when major equipment is received without a major equipment tag.
- Inform Asset Management of the location of new major equipment
- Inform Asset Management of updates to equipment location changes
Surplus Major Equipment:
Departments must complete a Surplus Property Form and send it to Facilities. A copy of this form should be submitted with the Major Equipment Verification Report (at the time of the annual major equipment inventory request).
Major Equipment Transfer:
Departments must complete a Major Equipment Transfer Form to move equipment between departments. This form needs to be sent to Asset Management and Facilities.
Major Equipment Purchased on a Grant:
Questions specific to the Grant should be directed to the appropriate Grants and Contracts contact. Equipment purchased under grants and contracts will be considered UND property if it is probably that ownership will revert to UND at the end of the grant.
