U-Mail
Where do I go to claim my U-Mail account?
Go to https://idm.und.edu/idm/user/login.jsp. If you are new and don't have a user ID and passphrase yet, click the Claim your Account button first, otherwise you may enter your ID and passphrase.
What do I do if I have difficulty claiming my account?
Please call UND Tech Support at 701.777.6305.
What is my user ID and passphrase?
Your user ID is given to you when you claim your account and the passphrase is the 15 character phrase you created during the claim process.
How do I activate my U-Mail account?
Go to http://www.und.edu/facultyandstaff.jsp and click on U-Mail. Enter the ID and password you got during the claiming process.
To read the email in your In Box, click InBox. Delete any email that you no longer need by highlighting the email and clicking Delete. Be sure that you read and print off the email from the ConnectND Security team with your HRMS User ID and Password, before deleting.
What if I want to use a different email account?
If you will be using a different email address in the future, forward your email from your U-Mail account to the email address you will be using. To forward your U-Mail email to a different email address, follow the steps listed below. You only have to set this up one time and all of your future U-Mail will be forwarded.
- Click Options
- Click Forwarding
- Click Enable Automatic Forwarding
- Enter Forwarding Email address
- Uncheck Keep a copy of the message
- Click Save Preference
Is there hands-on assistance available?
Yes. You may stop at the computer labs in the lower level of the Memorial Union or third floor of the Chester Fritz Library during their regular business hours.
Self-Service
How do I get my UserID and password for Employee Self-Service?
You will receive an email from the ConnectND Security Team in your U-Mail account.
How do I access Employee Self-Service?
Go to http://www.und.edu and click on Faculty & Staff. Then click the Employee Self-Service link. Enter your UserID and Password. It is recommended that you change your password immediately, by clicking: Change Your Password.
What if I get locked out of Self-Service or forget my UserID or Password?
Please call UND Tech Support at 701.777.6305 if you need assistance.
How do I access Self-Service if I am a student?
HRMS Self-Service is one of your menu items on your Campus Connection Website. After logging into Campus Connection, just click on HRMS Self-Service. Enter your UserID and Password. it is recommended that you change your password immediately, by clicking: Change Your Password.

Paperless
When will Payroll go Paperless?
Payroll will go Paperless on January 1, 2010.
How much paper will be saved by going Paperless?
The University will save 170,000 pieces of paper between advices and envelopes.
How do I get my advices now?
You will have access to your advices on HRMS Self-Service. Please follow the directions on our Employee Information Page for setting up your U-Mail account and for help on accessing Self-Service. You will have access to all your advices back to 2005.
If I work more than one job, can I see the earnings from each job separately?
No. The only items that are shown separately are those that are entered with a specific code, such as sick leave, vacation leave, jury duty, etc.
Will I have access to my W-2's?
For 2009 you will still receive a hard copy of your W-2. Self-Service will have all W-2's back to 2005 for you to access.
From where can I access Self-Service?
You are able to access Self-Service from any computer that has Internet access. It is available 24 hours a day.
What if I need help learning how to use Self-Service?
Yes. You may stop at the computer labs in the lower level of the Memorial Union or third floor of the Chester Fritz Library during their regular business hours.
What types of things can I do with Self-Service?
There are many things that can be done on Self-Service such as Address and Phone number changes, changes to Direct Deposit and tax deductions, view paychecks and W-2's, review your benefits, tax information, flex spending and leave balances. You can also request Life Event Change packets.
Can I change my name on Self-Service?
No. You will still need to bring in your new Social Security card, to Payroll, showing your new name.
Can I still come to Payroll for assistance?
Payroll will always be available to help you with any questions or assistance you may need.
