Dropping a Course & Withdrawal Policies
A 100% credit is automatically posted to your Campus Connection account ONLY during the first 9% of the semester/session for which you have dropped a class. Students will be responsible for 100% of tuition and fees charged for courses dropped after the first 9% of the semester/session. Courses can only be dropped utilizing Campus Connection. Please note: A student cannot drop to zero courses on Campus Connection as this is considered a withdrawal from school. If a student wishes to withdraw from the University, he/she must contact the Registrar's Office and complete an electronic Cancellation/Withdrawal Form. Further, Campus Connection will not allow students to drop to zero courses. Please see below for more information on withdrawing from school.
Credits for courses dropped by the first 9% of the semester/session will be posted to the student’s account according to the following schedule:

A student who is registered for classes and wants to unregister for ALL classes is considered as withdrawing from school. However, if you do not OFFICIALLY withdraw from school, you will be responsible to pay for 100% of the tuition and fees charged to your Campus Connection account. You CANNOT officially withdraw from school online using Campus Connection; you must contact the UND Registrar’s Office and complete an electronic Cancellation/Withdrawal Form.
Please note: Campus Connection will not allow students to drop to zero courses.
To withdraw from school BEFORE the first day of the semester
Contact the UND Registrar's Office and complete an electronic Cancellation/Withdrawal Form. The date of the official cancellation will be the date the student's letter or form is received by the Office of the Registrar. Students should check with the Office of the Registrar to verify the receipt of the cancellation.
If the Cancellation Form has been processed by the Registrar’s Office, the student will not be responsible for any tuition and fees for the semester from which he/she has withdrawn. After submitting the form to the Registrar’s Office, it is highly recommended that the student verify the charges have been credited to his/her Campus Connection account.
To withdraw from school ON OR AFTER the first day of the semester
Students MUST complete and submit an electronic Cancellation/Withdrawal Form to the Office of the Registrar. Staff in the Registrar’s Office are available to assist the student through the withdrawal process.
If the electronic Withdrawal Form has been completed by the student and the entire withdrawal process has been completed by the Registrar’s Office, the student may be eligible for a credit for the tuition and fees billed to his/her Campus Connection account, based on the University Dates & Deadlines Calendar for the semester. After submitting the form to the Registrar’s Office, it is highly recommended that the student verify the appropriate amount of credit for tuition and fees has been applied to his/her Campus Connection account.
*Credits are determined by the date the Withdrawal Form is RECEIVED by the Registrar's Office.
