Julie Evans
Julie Ann Evans is General Counsel. As the University’s lead counsel, she is a member of the President’s Cabinet. Her portfolio includes all areas of law concerning the University of North Dakota.
Previous to her appointment as General Counsel, Julie’s service to the University was as Assistant Dean of the School of Law, Director of Central Legal Research, and legal counsel. Previous to her work at the University, she served as law clerk to Justice Herbert Meschke of the North Dakota Supreme Court. She also taught Health Law and Ethics for the School of Law and the College of Business and Public Administration, and Higher Education Law for the College of Education and Human Development at the University.
Ms. Evans received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. Ms. Evans received her Juris Doctor, with Distinction, from the University of North Dakota School of Law. During her third year of law school, she taught Appellate Advocacy to first-year law school students.
Ms. Evans is admitted to practice in North Dakota and Minnesota, the United States District Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
