Volunteer Program
As a Wellness Center volunteer, you make a meaningful contribution working side-by-side with our student employees to provide a great experience for our guests.
There are two ways to get involved as a friend of the Wellness Center. The Golden Volunteer is designed for people who can regularly dedicate time to the Wellness Center. The Sparkplug volunteer is geared for the person who is looking to contribute, but can’t provide a regularly scheduled commitment. A completed application is required for consideration to the program. Applicants may be requested to complete an interview conducted by the Wellness Center staff.
Golden Volunteer
The advantage of being a Golden Volunteer is that your membership to the Wellness Center is immediately activated upon the first scheduled shift, and remains active until you are no longer a Wellness Center volunteer.
Your contribution is that you are regularly scheduled for a semester in the Wellness Center in one of the following job positions:
- CPR/1st Aid Instructor
- Equipment Technician
- Facilities Manager
- Fitness Floor Associate
- Group Exercise Instructor
- Guest Experience Associate
- Personal Trainer (certification required)
- RecSports Official
- Rock Climbing Wall Assistant
Sparkplug Volunteer
The advantage of being a Sparkplug Volunteer is that once you have completed 6 hours in a one month time span, you will have an activated membership for the following month.
You contribute by assisting when needed, but you are not regularly scheduled. Positions and opportunities are based on an as-needed basis.
How to Join
To apply for a volunteer position please complete the following online application. If you have any questions regarding volunteer opportunities please contact Carrie Herrig the Assistant Director of Staff Development by email or 701-777-4864.
