Honors Program Tuition Award
The Honors Program has a limited number of $4,000 tuition waivers to award to incoming students. The partial waivers are worth $1,000 per year for up to four years if you meet annual renewal criteria.
With a limited amount of funds available, approximately 25% of Honors students are on waiver each semester. The majority of offers are made to incoming students, but as additional funds become available, offers are made to current students. Current students do not need to apply for the waiver. Instead, all qualifying students are considered and notified if they can receive waivers.
There is no separate application process for the tuition waiver. All students who have applied and been admitted to the UND Honors Program will be considered. Students will be notified by April 1. Apply for admission to the Honors Program by March 1 to receive consideration for this waiver.
The incoming class of 2018 should apply for admission to the Honors Program by March 1, 2018, for full consideration in the tuition waiver review.
The Honors Program looks for overall fit with the program, as demonstrated by:
- Academic performance (GPA)
- ACT scores

For the tuition waiver to be renewed, Honors students must complete and/or maintain:
- A 3.2 GPA
- Critical analysis (per semester)
- Participation in specified Civic Engagement activities
- At least one Honors class per semester, generally three credits
- Meet with an Honors advisor each semester
- Progress through the Honors Program
