Digital signage is located across campus and consists of wall-mounted digital monitors, usually TVs, that showcase a variety of content relevant to our campus audience. Digital signage software is used by departments to display text, photos and video, and to schedule the content to play at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does UND use digital signage?
UND digital signs are located in areas of campus with a high amount of foot traffic. The signs provide helpful information such as upcoming events, weather, UND news, building maps, hours and directories, campus maps, and other UND content. Some of the signs are touch screens and provide an interactive experience for the user. Most signs play a looping slideshow, where the content changes every 6-10 seconds.
Who manages UND digital signage?
Several people manage the digital signage on campus. The management is broken down by departments and/or buildings.

Who may display content on UND digital signage?
UND staff, faculty, and student organizations may create digital sign advertisements if the event or information is UND related and benefits students on campus. The content you submit will be displayed on a large number of UND signs so it is recommended that a graphic designer create the content design. The content displayed will be up to the University's discretion. If questionable content exists, your ad may be denied or will need to be resubmitted with changes that are requested.
How can I get help creating digital sign content?
What are the design specifications?
If you use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Microsoft Publisher, you can download a Pre-Sized Template to get started.
We recommend including the following: who, what, when, where, a graphic, and department logo. Remember that each slide only shows for 6-10 seconds so don't include too much information. You can always direct the viewer to a webpage that has additional information.
Please make sure you follow UND Identity Guidelines when creating your design.
The majority of UND signs use a landscape orientation (1920 x 1080 pixels), but there are a few that are portrait (1080 x 1920 pixels).
If you would like your content to be displayed on all available signs, please submit both landscape and portrait design files. JPG is preferred but PDF is also accepted.
How do I submit a sign for display?
Please fill out a Digital Sign Request Form to submit your advertisement to be displayed on UND digital signs. Once submitted, allow 1-2 business days for your content to be added. It is recommended that you start the design process early in case there are changes that need to be made. Your content will be shown on 53+ signs in the following locations:
|Building||# of Digital Signs|
|Chester Fritz Library||1|
|Hughes Fine Arts Center/Music||1|
|Robertson-Sayre Hall (CILT)||1|
|Squires Dining Center||1|
|Terrace Dining Center||1|
|Witmer Hall (Physics, Mathematics)||2|
How can I set up digital signage in my department?
Do you have examples of some of the UND digital signage?
If you are looking for ideas or a place to start, view some examples of our digital signs across campus.
How does the social media feed work?
Some signs across campus display UND social media. Use #myUND on Twitter or Instagram and your content may be shown.
Please note event posters/advertisements are not approved for display on social media feeds. Use a photo preparing for the event or a past event to promote upcoming events on #myUND, along with a short text-based description.
