Start your next big venture by becoming a part of UND’s School of Entrepreneurship and making your ideas come to life. As one of the most rapidly-expanding fields on campus, a major in entrepreneurship will help you create a vast networking web to capitalize on your skills as a thinker and idealist.
The School of Entrepreneurship within the College of Business & Public Administration is one of the only AACSB International accredited business programs in the world. Our faculty have designed the B.B.A. with a major in Entrepreneurship to not only give you an intensive set of entrepreneurial skills, but also a strong business foundation in marketing, accounting, management and finance.
Our courses are taught by entrepreneurial instructors with several decades of combined experience in service, retail, international business, manufacturing and social enterprises. Some courses that will challenge you to reason, be creative and think critically include:
- Entrepreneur Law and Operations
- Imagination, Creativity and Entrepreneurial Thinking
- Venture Initiation
- Entrepreneurship: The Money
- Entrepreneurship: The Numbers
Our program also allows you to tailor your class choices to fit your individual goals as entrepreneurial thinkers with several elective options built-in to the course of study. With the flexibility of our program, entrepreneurship also makes a great double-major option for other business students looking to expand their horizons.
We strongly encourage you to take advantage of unique opportunities available to Entrepreneurship majors. If fact, as a part of the Entrepreneurship major’s curriculum, you must complete an internship experience. We also support your participation in extracurricular activities, such as student clubs and study abroad. Or, in the spirit of adventure, start your own initiative on campus.
There are many avenues available for you to pursue your business interests. Become a part of the Dakota Venture Group, a student-managed venture fund. Utilize the Center for Innovation, Ina Mae Rude Entrepreneur Center and James Ray Idea Lab to develop product and business ideas.
The Center for Innovation and the Department of Entrepreneurship offer scholarships to support you in your studies. For more information on the Center for Innovation and scholarship requirements visit: www.innovators.net.
For some students, the School of Entrepreneurship is a place to develop and test the beginnings of the next big entrepreneurial idea. For others not ready to make the leap into their own business, it is a place to learn a unique set of skills that will make you a more marketable hire upon graduation. Whatever route you choose, UND’s Entrepreneurship bachelor’s degree is unique in that YOU pursue any career you can dream of.
