Mishler to preview Grand Forks Visioning results at UND Stone Soup awards luncheon Nov. 8
Kristi Mishler of the local Community Foundation will preview key findings of an ongoing community visioning project at the upcoming Stone Soup Awards Program hosted by the University of North Dakota Center for Community Engagement, Thursday, Nov. 8, at the new Gorecki Alumni Center on the UND campus.
Mishler, executive director of the Community Foundation of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks and Region, will speak at this year's event on "A Well-Connected Community: A Vision for the Future of Grand Forks." In her presentation, Mishler will highlight some of the results from the ongoing" NV360 visioning process," and how the resources of the Center for Community Engagement can be used to forward the vision. The luncheon and awards program will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Co-chairs of the center's Community Advisory Board Greg Hoover, Grand Forks Office of Urban Development, and Kelly Greenlees, Bremer Bank, will emcee the event. Special guests Grand Forks Mayor Michael Brown and UND Vice President for University and Public Affairs Susan Walton will serve the event's signature stone soup and present awards.
Eight awards will be presented to UND students and faculty and community partners in the categories of Community Partner, Engaged Department, Faculty Service-Learning, Public Scholar, Undergraduate and Graduate Student Civic Engagement, as well as the Paul V. Boswell Community Scholar award. Participants can view exhibits during registration featuring service learning and public scholarship projects and partners.
