Spring Wellness Expo for UND Students set for Feb. 27
University of North Dakota students are invited to attend the second annual Spring Wellness Expo, which runs noon-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the UND Wellness Center.
The event is dedicated to and a celebration of holistic wellness on the UND campus, according to organizers. It provides students with an interactive environment to learn firsthand about the correlation between wellness and academic success.
This year's expo will feature organizations from around the UND campus that will demonstrate one or more of the Seven Dimensions of Wellness at UND: physical, social, environmental, emotional, spiritual, occupational and intellectual. Students are encouraged to visit exhibitor displays, participate in activities that promote wellness and learn how wellness can have a positive influence on academics and life.
The expo will be filled with entertainment and more than $4,000 worth of prizes from local business. The day's activities will include Zumba demonstrations, swing dance lessons, yoga sessions (starting every hour beginning at 1 p.m.), a performance by the Varsity Gentlemen, cooking with Chef Greg, and a chance to venture into a giant labyrinth set up in the Wellness Center. All this and more.
Also, prizes will be awarded to winners of UND's Pursuit of Wellness program.
UND 's Health & Wellness hosted a seven-week wellness program called Pursuit of Wellness for the UND campus community. The program is a game designed to teach UND students about the correlation between wellness and academic success through experience. The game sent students on a journey through the Seven Dimensions of Wellness.
