  • Putting on the 'Fritz'

    A new art exhibition showcases historical highlights from the University of North Dakota's art and photography collections. "Chester Fritz in Shanghai, 1921-1947," opened April 18, 2016, with a reception at the UND Art Collections Gallery, in partnership with the Empire Arts Center, 415 DeMers. The exhibition runs through July 28. Shawna Noel Schill.

    An art exhibition showcasing historical highlights from one of UND's most influential benefactors: Chester Fritz -- "Chester Fritz in Shanghai, 1921-1947" -- opened April 18 and runs through July 28. In honor of Fritz, 11 current members of the UND faculty, who have attained the Chester Fritz Distinguished Professorship level, attended the opening. Fritz donated the money that made the prestigious professorships possible. 

  • 'Soaring' soul

    The Soaring Eagle native prairie garden is located directly behind the UND Chester Fritz Library on the main campus quad. Glinda Crawford, former UND sociology professor, was a major proponent of the garden and spearheaded the effort to bring it to campus.
