About Student Association of India

The Student Association of India (SAI) is a non-profit student organization at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND. It was established with the purpose of promoting and sharing India's diverse culture with the UND community and the Grand Forks area. SAI was formed to provide a social network for the Indian community and for Indian students to assist one another while away from their home country. SAI also participates in various activities on campus promoting awareness of India's rich cultural heritage.

SAI hosts several events every year: a summer picnic, celebration of India's Republic Day, Independence Day, Diwali, Bollywood Movie Nights and other activities. In collaboration with the Office of International Program, SAI hosts India Night, which is one of the biggest cultural nights on UND campus with an audience of more than 500 guests. At India Night students display diversity of Indian culture by performing traditional cultural shows and offer a taste of ethnic Indian cuisines to the community of Grand Forks and UND.

All SAI events are made possible by the fees collected from its members. Membership fee is $10/year for students. Become a member by contacting SAI.
